About

I’ve enjoyed life drawing for many years, with some big gaps when I didn’t do any. Can’t imagine why not.
Now I often attend untutored drop-in sessions at an arts club close to where I live in Brighton, on the south coast of England.
I’m keener than ever to develop my general drawing skills and life drawing is the best way I know to do that because its so…..hard!

I also paint, often in a more abstract style, though I’ve also begun to enjoy representational figure painting, something I never thought I’d get into back in my days as a wild and rebellious London art student. You can see examples of my work on my website

  1. I love your figures especially the freedom of your lines. I just joined the VAA and am looking forward to starting after Christmas. If you have a chance to look at my blog it is annedarbyparker.blogspot.com Lovely drawings. Happy Holidays. Anne

  2. Dear Dee
I have enjoyed trawling through your life drawing blog (page 1 so far – it is 1am and I’ve just finished work). I wondered whether I might link to it through my own blog. Truthfully, I am very much an amateur artist although I am now trying to develop my skills and eye systematically within the constraints or work and family pressures. I have only recently taken up life drawing classes as a component of this. I am trying to link selectively to blogs and websites that speak to me personally.
    Kind regards
    Neil

  3. Dear Dee
I just called by to say thank you for being so generous with your time in offering critical appraisal of one of my paintings. This means so much to me. It will be the basis for further experimentation.
    Best wishes
    Neil
